This alloy meets and exceeds ASTM F2923 - 11 standard for toxic metals in casting alloy.
About MPK Lead Free Pewter
Our most popular lead free alloys are MPK and 92-8. The make up of MPK is the original ASTM standard for pewter alloy and has a liquidus / solidus of 455 to 475 and a casting range of between 500/600 degrees. Our newest addition to our lead free line, MPK has a liquidus / solidus of 428/446 and a casting temperature of 500/600 degrees.

For Best Results with MPK Lead Free Pewter
MPK is also antimony free which makes it more pliable than 92-8. MPK will run about 40 to 50 ppm in lead. Either alloy works well in either silicone or vulcanized rubber, sand and bronze molds. Some customers tell me that they even cast into plaster. Both metals run approximately .27 pounds per cubic inch.
