As your supplier, it is our job to provide you with the highest quality starting alloys available. At Hallmark Metals, we use only virgin materials and certified low lead tin to make our high-performance pewters.

We blend our tin with other metals including antimony, copper, bismuth and silver to create our individual alloys. All materials are processed in our centralized manufacturing facilities and given regular XRF testing to ensure your starting materials are consistent and pure. Our adherence to such impeccable quality creates pewters that run at cooler temperatures for less dross loss, provide a greater yield and help protect the life of your molds. The end result? An alloy with an excellent pour that’s perfect for casting fine jewelry, gifts, collectables, awards and other novelty items.

Types of pewter alloys available include:

  • Lead free
  • Lead free with silver
  • Lead free and antimony free
  • Leaded

We offer lead free pewter alloys that conform to new ASTM and CPSIA lead standards of less than 100ppm for children’s jewelry. These pewter alloys adhere to these highest standards of purity so you can rest assured knowing that your casted products will be safe for handling.

Please note – not all of our available pewter alloys meet both ASTM and CPSIA standards for children, but may conform to ASTM standards for pewter. Please confirm with us that you are using the proper alloy for your project needs.

MPK – Lead free pewter made of pure tin, silver, copper and bismuth. The silver in the alloy creates a bright, lustrous casting when tubed or polished, and the lack of antimony in the composition makes it more pliable than other lead free pewters.

  • Liquidus/solidus of 446/428
  • Casts between 500-600 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Casts well in:
    • Silicone
    • Vulcanized rubber
    • Sand
    • Bronze molds
    • Plaster
  • Weight
    • Approximately .27 pounds per cubic inch
    • Bars weight between 6 and 7 pounds per bar

92-8 – Lead free pewter that gets its name from its makeup of 92% pure tin, 7.75% antimony and .25% copper. The antimony in this alloy makes it less pliable than MPK while still providing a beautiful cast.

  • Liquidus/solidus of 475/455
  • Casting range between 500-600 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Casts well in:
    • Silicone
    • Vulcanized rubber
    • Sand

    • Approximately .27 pounds per cubic inch
    • Bars weight between 6 and 7 pounds per bar

NL7 – This popular lead free casting alloy contains tin, antimony, bismuth and copper. With more antimony than MPK but less than 92-8, this alloy is a happy medium of strength and pliability. Its unique composition makes NL7 one of our most versatile alloys.
