Lead free pewter (92-8) made up of pure tin, antimony and copper.
Bar weight is 6+ pounds.
This alloy meets and exceeds ASTM F2923 - 11 standard for toxic metals in casting alloy.
Our high performance alloys provide trouble free, smooth flow results for the caster. We are a pewter alloying company, having a combined alloying and technical experience of over 70 years.
Our most popular lead free alloys are 92-8 and MPK. The make up of 92-8 is the original ASTM standard for pewter alloy 92% Tin 7.75 % Antimony and 0.25% Copper. 92-8 will run about 70 to 95 ppm in lead. It has a liquidus / solidus of 455 to 475 and a casting range of between 500/600 degrees.
Either alloy works well in either silicone or vulcanized rubber, sand and bronze molds. Some customers tell me that they even cast into plaster. Both metals run approximately .27 pounds per cubic inch. Bars weight between 6 and 7 pounds per bar. Bars need to be cut to fit into a USPS flat rate box.
